Mercedes-Benz » L / LA / LK / LF / LS middle range
In 1963, for simplification introduced a new index system - the first one or two digits indicate the rounded GVW in tones, next figures - engine power to tens of horsepower. According to the new index system the L323 model became L710, L328 became L911, L322 became L1113 and L327 became L1413. Main construction innovation was using diesel engines with direct fuel injection. The first diesel engine with direct injection OM352 (5675 cm3, 130 hp) was introduced in 1967 on the L / LP 1113B series and then used on other versions. In 1968 the 8.2-liter engine with an output 170-190 hp for 1017/1919 models was added. External design of the trucks almost has not changed. The L range has been produced in Brazil until 1982, when a slight cosmetic restyling was made.
