ComTrans'11: Another cabover prototype by KrAZ - why?
Holding Company "AutoKrAZ" from Ukraine at the International specialized exhibition «Commercial transport - 2011" presented a prototype of cabover 6x4 chassis KrAZ N23.2M. The truck has a carrying capacity of 23 tons and is equipped with a 6-cylinder turbocharged JAMZ-6501.10 Euro 3 engine rated at 362 hp. The feature of this prototype is the Chinese cabin, made under the license from MAN, and already used by several dozen of Chinese and Russian companies. There is a logical question - why do they need to use it? And what about the prototypes with the original cabover cabin, which are shown for the last 3 years? Probably only economical reasons are led to create such an absurd and ugly prototype. The KrAZ N23.2M chassis is designed for mounting of special technological equipment used in construction, repair and maintenance of public utilities, industrial plants and roads.
