PACCAR MX engine is now available for Peterbilt 389
Peterbilt Motors Company announces the availability of the PACCAR MX engine with Model 389. “High industry acceptance and customer demand has allowed Peterbilt to expand the availability of the PACCAR MX engine into the Model 389,” says Bill Jackson, Peterbilt general manager and PACCAR vice president. “We are pleased to pair the MX engine with the Model 389 offering customers a superior fuel economy option that provides longer service intervals, increased uptime, lower operating costs and higher resale value.”
The PACCAR MX engine is available with a horsepower range of 380hp-485hp and torque outputs up to 1,750 lb-ft with a displacement of 12.9 liters. Using Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) in combination with exhaust gas recirculation (EGR), the MX engine meets 2010 EPA diesel engine emissions regulations. The fully integrated systems with modular components reduce design complexity resulting in longer service intervals, increased uptime and lower operating costs. The PACCAR MX is available in all Class 8 Peterbilt Models 587, 388, 386, 384, 367, 365 and now the Model 389.
