MAZ » 537K
MAZ 537K - a special crane chassis, unified with MAZ 537 tractors. It was designed in 1962 by MAZ. The only pilot batch was made by KZKT in 1965. Its purpose was the installation of a hydraulic crane 9T35 with a carrying capacity of 16 tonnes, designed for the Strategic Missile Forces. The crane was a part of a missile complex 9K76 "Temp-S".
The crane equipment with a closed metal cab was mounted on a rotating platform at the rear of the chassis. The main hydraulic pump was driven by an additional 4-cylinder 50-horsepower diesel engine D-37M (D-144), which produced by Vladimir Tractor Plant.
Curb weight - 40.7 tonnes, GVW with a crew - 41.1 tonnes. Overall dimensions in transport position - 11210x3070x3312 mm. Maximum speed on a highway - 38 kph. Fuel consumption ranged from 93 to 226 liters per 100 kilometers. Winter tests of 21 NIII held from November 1968 to February 1969, appeared the main shortcomings of the crane: weight excess, bad offroad capability and susceptibility to side tipping. MAZ 537K had never produced, and was soon replaced by a lighter mobile cranes on a chassis of Ural-375.
