MAZ 537A - a ballast tractor with a 4.5 meter long steel flatbed platform with a carrying capacity of 15 tonnes and a winch located under the platform. It was designed for towing of heavy artillery, trailers and missile systems with a total weight up to 75 tonnes, and was also used as a ground hauler of aircrafts with takeoff weight of up to 200 tonnes. Some versions were equipped with a canopy and benches for a crew. MAZ 537A was produced in Minsk since 1958 to 1964, and then a batch of these machines was made by KZKT. In 1976 it was replaced by MAZ 537L.

MAZ 537L - the first multi-purpose 15-tonnes ballast tractor, completely designed and built by KZKT using a chassis of MAZ 537G. The first tractor was made in 1976, production began two years later. Its curb weight - 23.7 tonnes, GVW - 39.1 tonnes, GCVW - up to 240 tonnes. The tractor was equipped with a shortened weld cargo platform. Installation of the winch between cab and flatbed platform led to an increase in overall length to 9,250 mm. Maximum speed on a highway - 60 kph.

MAZ-537P (KZKT-537P) - an upgraded and simplified multi-purpose 15-tones ballast tractor without a winch, which served for towing trailers with a total weight up to 75 tonnes. This allowed to reduce the curb weight and GVW by 1 tonne (to 22.7 and 38.1 t, respectively), compared with MAZ 537L, and return longer welded metal flatbed platform.
