KrAZ sent several prototypes of model "6316" to test in 1984. Along with 3E6316 model, KrAZ made another prototype 4E6316, featuring a unique centerpoint front suspension. Visually, it can be distinguished by reducing distance between 1st and 2nd axles. In other points 4E6316 and 3E6316 were almost identical: both were equipped with a new multi-fuel diesel engine YaMZ 8425 rated at 360 hp and dual-band transmission YaMZ-202. Capacity - 15 tonnes. The results of the tests were dissatisfied. A number of other disadvantages was found; and the factory started developments of new models.
