Hendrickson HME VT-100.

The Hendrickson Motor Truck Company was established in 1913 by Mangus Hendrickson , producing custom-built trucks for use in specialized operations. Hendrickson developed the first tandem axle truck suspension, and was one of the first truckmakers to install diesel engines. The Hendrickson Motor Truck Company later changed its name to Hendrickson Mobile Equipment (HME), to better reflect the company's offerings.

Huge prime movers were produced for special customer requirements. such as transporting 500,000 pound transformers to hydroelectric plants in Canada.

HME now specialises in the manufacture of custom fire truck cab & chassis under the names SilverFox and HME Ahrens-Fox. HME was the first custom fire truck manufacturer to build a tilt cab.
