AWD » Industrial Chassis

AWD Industrial Chassis Series was essentially rebuilt standard lorries with proprietary components with original mechanicals but using new modified driving axles. The range included Fire Engines, Fire Crashtenders and cranecarriers. The All Wheel Drive Industrial Chassis with its all welded structural steel frame enabled equipment to be directly mounted without a sub frame. This effects a considerably saving in height, weight and cost. Full torque P.T.O. was available. The Industrial Chassis was available as 4x4, 6x4 and 6x6, and used by several British crane and excavator builders. Later production continued under Vickers-AWD brand name.
