Dongfeng develops a new conventional truck Chenglong T7 450

Chinese company Dongfenf Liuzhou Motor Co LTD started testing their new truck called Chenglong T7 450 6x4. As you can see, the truck will 6x4 driving mechanism and will be equipped with a 450HP turbocharged diesel engine Dongfeng Cummins ISZ450.41. The truck will have a pneumatic spring rear suspension. Judging by lack of balance truck, we can suppose that this vehicle was built only for freeways, which is logical, because China has the longest highways in the world.

The project started in 2013, when Chinese economy was steadily growing. It’s obvious that with economical growth comes logistical growth as well and there was a huge demand for cab type trucks. Why cab type? They got low level of cabin vibration, good serviceability, maintainability and large in-cabin space. Not to mention the “two meters of life” in case of an accident.

Speaking of drawbacks, there is a shortened semitrailer, so there is much less space there. But the freight is becoming more and more expensive, and the cabin is so damn comfortable!
