Toyota Rebadges Peugeot Expert to Create New Proace Van
The PSA group is well-known for creating competent and durable commercial vehicles, and thanks to their tie-up with Toyota, the Japanese manufacturer is able to sell some of them under its own name, and so they have removed all the badging from a Peugeot Expert, and replaced them with their own, in order to create the new Proace van.
As the official press release states, “The new Toyota ProAce will expand Toyota’s presence in European LCV markets, a medium-sized van that will feature bespoke Toyota design details and branding.” With engines ranging in power from 90 hp, from a 1.6-liter unit to 161 hp from a 2.0-liter unit, as well as a mid-range option, the Proace will perform just as well as the Expert on which it’s based. It is available in two lengths and heights, with load capacities of 5, 6 or 7 cubic meters, as well as a maximum payload of 1,200 kg. It is set to go on sale from next spring, with deliveries poised to begin during the second quarter of the year.
