UD Trucks releases light-duty Condor models compliant with 2009 Emission Vehicle Standards
UD Trucks Corporation has launched versions of its light-duty Condor Truck (1.6~4.6 ton load capacity) that comply with Japan’s 2009 standards for low emission vehicles and feature enhanced collision safety. The new models went on sale throughout Japan on Thursday April 26, 2012. In addition to complying with 2009 low emission vehicle standards, most of the new models meet 2015 heavy vehicle fuel efficiency standards. Automobile acquisition tax and automobile weight tax will be reduced when these models are purchased new, since they qualify for the “new eco-car” tax incentives introduced as part of fiscal 2012 tax reforms.
Collision safety has been enhanced by strengthening the rear under-run protection device (RUPD), which prevents cars from running under the back of the truck in the event of a rear-end collision.
