Oshkosh introduced innovative airport snow plow and blower combination

Oshkosh Airport Products Group, a division of Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE: OSK), today unveiled its newest innovation, the high performance H-Series™ Extreme Runway System (XRS). An addition to its model range of airport snow removal products, the H-Series XRS multi-tasking equipment (MTE) features a 20-foot wide front-mount blower attachment that simultaneously plows, collects and blows a wide swath of snow to its final destination, all in one pass.

Under development for more than 15 months, Oshkosh Airport Products joined with Team Eagle Ltd. to engineer and create a prototype plow and blower combination that was initially tested over the winter of 2010/11. The unit is built on an Oshkosh H-Series vehicle featuring a 500 hp drive engine while the front mounted plow and blower combination is driven by a dedicated 700 hp auxiliary engine. In addition, the vehicle is capable of integrating a tow behind sweeper and air blower for even greater performance and versatility. The H-Series XRS will be appearing at a number of testing and demonstration events throughout the winter of 2011/12.
