Tyrano zero emission vehicle is a hydrogen-cell fuelled, battery-powered, electric-motored Class 8 tractor developed by Vision Motor Corporation, located in the Golden State. It's based on a Freightliner Cascadia chassis and according to the people from Vision it's zero emission, zero CO2, zero fossil fuels, zero noise pollution and zero carbon footprint. The Tyrano is powered by a 536hp electric engine motor with 3,300ft./lbs. of torque.
The history of developing this truck began from a Letter of Intent from Total Transportation Services, Inc. (TTSI) of Rancho Dominguez, California, to purchase one hundred Tyranos at a total purchase price of approximately $27,000,000 dollars. To jumpstart the LOI, TTSI will take delivery of the first Vision Tyrano(TM) zero emission truck for testing in commercial revenue service. The initial truck will perform typical drayage operations, hauling freight containers from port terminals in the Ports of Los Angles and Long Beach to rail yards and other distribution facilities.
