Accello on a reed fuel
The Brazilian division of Mercedes Company is participating in the Challenge Bibendum competition, taking place in Rio de Janeiro from May 30 to June 3. Special for this the company has prepared a special version Accelo BlueTec EEV with a diesel engine running on a reed fuel. Such technology reduces particulate emissions 88% if compare with current standards. The concept was created to meet the standards EEV - Enhanced Environmentally Friendly Vehicles. The diesel OM 924 LA EEV engine with the BlueTec system, mounted on the vehicle, allows 90% reduction of a greenhouse gas emissions and 33% reduction of a particulate matter emissions, if compare with the Conama P7 standard, equivalent to Euro 5, which starts in Brazil in 2012.
