Tonar made a 130-tonnes road train for diamond mining company
Moscow company "Tonar", involved in production of trailers and trucks, developed a tipper road train with a load capacity of 130 tonnes. The road train consisted of a tractor and semitrailer, was ordered by a diamond mining company "ALROSA". It is designed to transport ore from a mine to processing plant (the distance is up to 170 km).
The road train is able to work only on technological roads, not on public roads. The tractor Tonar 45252 is similar to Australian trucks according to its design. It had a solid welded frame, front suspension with a pneumo-elastic elements, back suspension with elastic elements and torque rods. The axles were made by a Chinese company Hande. The engine is a six-cylinder Cummins QSK19 diesel (18.9 liters, 600 hp). Torque transmitted to the rear wheels through an Allison automatic gearbox.
The semitrailer Tonar-95405 has a side discharge, and is designed to carry up to 70 cubic meters of bulk cargo. Payload is 130 tonnes. Tonar made the only prototype right now and sent it to tests.
