VDL company will build 100% electric tractor
Dutch company VDL is planning to build a 100% electric driven truck for city distribution. The tractor unit is based on DAF chassis-axles and cabs but will be sold as a VDL product. The tractor units will be able to transport combinations with a gross vehicle weight of 37 tons. That means enough power for city distribution to fill the supermarkets. The electric driven tractor unit will be on the market next year.
