(1996 - 2003)
In 1996 the Brazilian L-Series has been modernized. The new family became known as "Brazil". The trucks got a new design of front mask with 4 round headlights and new grille painted in body's color, as well as more powerful engines. Medium and heavy versions were showen first. In 1998, a LS1938 model has been presented, which was equipped with a new Brazilian made engine BR-450 with electronic fuel injection system. This engine was also mounted on a truck tractor LS2638. In 2001 the trucks got new engines with electronic control, and these models received names L1218EL and L1418EL. Also there was a L1622 model.
