The main medium-duty model of Mercedes-Benz do Brazil is the Atego, which are offered in five basic variants, four of which (1315, 1418, 1718, 1725) with 150, 177 and 245 hp engines are available only in Brazil. Only the 1518 version is similar to German model. The OM904-LA engine has a working volume of 4.2 liters, develops 150 hp and 580 Nm of torque. In the second variant it develops 177 hp and 675 Nm of torque. The heaviest versions are available with 6 cylinder engine OM906-LA with a working volume of 6.4 liters and 245 hp. Gearboxes for all versions are manual 6-speed. Trucks can be ordered with 2 and 3-axle variants. In 2005, the heaviest 2425 model with 3 axes has been presented.
