In the late '80s Mercedes-Benz trucks were dominated in the European Truck Racing Championship. But in 1989, the MAN-Phoenix racing truck has been presented, and 2 years later it finally won Mercedes-Benz. The giant concern could not suffer such a defeat, and in 1992 released a modified race trucks 1450S, which were reconstructed by the Swiss company Larag. Its V10 engines with a working volume of 18.2 liters developed 1600 hp and 6000 Nm of torque.
