This unified range consisted of three basic models - N4510 (4x4), N4520 (the 6x6) and N4540 (8x8) with the payload 5, 7 and 10 tons. The trucks have a modular design with a spar frame and a standardized rectangular all-metal 3-place cabin on a folding aluminum frame with a hatch in the roof, a metal flatbed body with aluminum ramps, removable benches and an awning, wide-single wheels. In the rear side of the cabin was located a 12.8-liter diesel engine Deutz F8L413F V8 air-cooled, 256 hp for the 4x4 variant, and 320 hp (with turbocharger) for other versions. All vehicles were equipped with hydraulic mechanical 6-speed gearboxes ZF, 2-speed transfer gear-boxes with a built-in differential, planetary reduction gears, double-circuit hydraulic brakes, spring suspension with hydraulic shock absorbers and lockable differentials. The models N4610 (4x4), N4620 (6x6) and N4540 (8x8) were equipped with the winches Rotzler with a pulling force 5.0-7.5 ton-force, the models N4530 and N4550 (6x6) with a power takeoff shafts were used for assembling various bodies and engineering machinery, the N4640 (8x8) with 1-ton hydro crane is used to work with changeable bodies. Some trucks received longer cabins with two sleeping places over the engine. All versions have the total mass of 14.5-24.2 t, maximum speed of 90 km/h and could tow 5-10 t trailers. The N4540 chassis was used for assembling straddle carrier bodies, bridges launchers, radar stations and anti-aircraft missile systems Roland-2. Totally 8385 cars of this range had been produced from 1976 to 1985.
