BelAZ » 75137 with a remote control
The Belarusian Automobile Plant on the scientific-technical conference "Perspectives of development of mining equipment" has presented a prototype dump truck with a remote control BelAZ 75137, which was designed by the company's constructors. "The idea of its creation was arisen after our Russian consumers began to complain about the shortage of drivers of heavy-duty dump trucks. Still, the profession of driver of such trucks makes some serious demands to physical condition of the driver. That's how the idea was born to bring a driver out of this difficult area and place it, for example, at the office conditions, that he will work as an operator ", - said Alexander Egorov, General Designer of BelAZ. Over a year was spent for this project, including the producing of the first prototype. One of the main problems is how to transmit the signal to steering and brakes, and it was successfully solved. The new prototype is designed to reduce the human factor at work in difficult conditions. It also would eliminate the impact harmful environmental factors to the operator of the truck. Driving control system consists of a truck on-board control system and remote place of the operator, equipped with high-contrast widescreen LCD. Optoelectronic system installed on the truck, ensures the safety of driving in any weather and climatic conditions and even in the dark. Diesel engine MTY DD with output of 1623 hp with a new electronically controlled fuel supply and diagnostics systems meets the requirements for the release of toxic substances Tier-1. The dump truck is equipped with a transmission AC / DC, and also there are some new systems. By the way, in contrast to foreign analogs, the remote control system of BelAZ doesn't use GPS, and uses radio signals. This makes design easier and cheaper, but has several shortcomings. For example, the radio signal does not pass through big objects, and therefore it becomes impossible to control the truck.
