At the International exhibition Arms and Security 2018 in Kiev, Ukraine, the latest BM-21 UM18-001 missile system was shown based on KrAZ-5401NE chassis. The 4x4 chassis is equipped with a twin-row cab from a Shaanxi army truck and was presented in 2016.
The carrying capacity of KrAZ-5401NE chassis is 9 tonnes. It is equipped with two fuel tanks with a total volume of 330 liters. It has range of 600 km. Top speed of the chassis is over 90 kph. It also has a tire inflation system.
