DAF » V-1600 Half Track
In 1977, Terberg Techniek combined the military 1964 DAF V-1600 and the half-track White M3 to get the DAF V-1600 Half Track. It was created specifically for the Royal Air Force of the Netherlands. It was intended for the collection of dropped bombs on sandy soils, where even AWD wheeled trucks could not pass.
But the disadvantages of the half-tracked version were also abound. For example, if a conventional truck had a carrying capacity of 6500 kg, the V-1600 Half Track has only 2500 kg.
The truck is equipped with a 6-cylinder DD 575 engine with a capacity of 5750 cm3 and power of 120 hp. The basic cargo platform was replaced by a platform from Hanomag AL28. A single prototype was produced. The company did not receive anу orders from the Royal Forces.
