The A-1100, A-1300 and A-1600 civilian trucks were also used in military service. DAF A-1100 with a 6-cylinder DAF BA475 (135 hp) or DAF DA475 (100 hp) engine was used as a flatbed truck for transportation of different military loads. Some versions were equipped with a mobile crane.
In 1965, the Netherlands Army received 84 5-ton trucks DAF A-1300 DA360 with a wheelbase of 3600 mm and a 100 hp DA475 engine. The same year, the army also got 24 DAF A-1300 DA406 firefighting trucks with a wheelbase of 4,060 mm and firefighting equipment by Magirus.
From 1959 to 1963, the army was supplied with the DAF A-1600 chassis with a 4.8-liter 6-cylinder 155 hp BB475. There were also versions with a 100 hp DA475 and 120 hp DD575. The chassis was available with wheelbases of 4060, 4250, 4680 and 4900 mm and performed a variety of tasks.
