Ural » 53236
Ural-53236 is a long wheelbase chassis with KamAZ cab designed to work as the part of the pontoon bridge PP-91. Equipped with a two-wire winch.
In 1992, the first prototype of a modernized pontoon park PP-91 was shown to the first deputy defense minister Mr.Kokoshki. This was the replacement to the previous PP-85 pontoon bridge. The parts of the bridge were transported in regular metal containers using KrAZ-260G vehicles. KrAZ trucks also carried BMP-225 boats that were also a part of the new pontoon bridge.
With the collapse of the USSR, the Kremenchug Car Factory, which supplied the KrAZ-260G, became a foreign company. The urgent task was to find a domestic chassis to transport PP-91 bridge. Ural-5323 was chosen. Engineers of the factory created a special long wheelbase version Ural-53236 to be a part of PP-91 pontoon bridge. Two prototypes were made and sent to field tests that were successful.
