In 1983, Ural began producing of an agriculture 3-way dump truck Ural 5557, based on Ural 4320. Thanks to its technical characteristics, this model quickly became popular. Its chassis uses as a base for tankers, buses, fire trucks, wreckers and other special equipment.
The chassis of Ural 5557 has a frame extension in the rear: dimension from the rear axle to the end of the frame is 1428 mm against 1095 mm of Ural-4320. Ural 55571 is a construction dump truck with rear unloading. The chassis dimensions are similar to Ural-4320, but the frame configuration is different.
From the beginning, Ural 5557 was fitted with Kamaz 740 210 hp diesel. Since 1993, it was replaced with Ural 5557-10 with YAMZ 236 and Ural 5557-30 with YAMZ 238. In the 2000s, the factory produced only chassis for aftermarket companies Ural 5557-40 with YAMZ 236NE2.
Mass production of construction dumpers Ural 55571 started in 1994. This was Ural 55571-30 with YAMZ 238 diesel and a long hood. Later it was replaced by the chassis version Ural 55571-40 with YAMZ 236NE2.
