Scania » P-series 4th generation
Scania has completed the redesign of its basic cab line-up by introducing the new P-series that combines its traditional low-mounted format with larger windows, thinner A-pillars and a lower vision line from the reshaped dashboard to give enhanced visibility.
A wide variety of cab dimension permutations will ultimately be able to provide three internal lengths, 1,400mm day cab, 1,700mm extended and 2,000mm sleeper, with low, normal and Highline roof heights but at the launch, choices of the lightest and most compact iteration of Scania’s modular cab family will be limited to a low day cab, low and normal extended cabs and the full trio of sleepers. That means the six P-series cabs available are CP14L, CP17L and CP17N, as well as the three sleeper options of CP20L, CP20N and the CP20H with Highline roof.
The new Scania P-series will be available with 2 engine options: 9-litre (280, 320 and 360 hp) and 13-litre (370, 410, 450 and 500 hp). 8- and 12-speed gearboxes can be fitted with Scania Opticruise and Scania Retarder. Wheel configuration options are 4x2, 4x4, 6x2, 6x2/2, 6x2/4, 6x4, 6x6, 8x2, 8x2/4, 8x2/6, 8x4, 8x4/4 and 10x4/6. Since 2018 a new 7-liter diesel is available rated at 220, 250 or 280 hp, as well as a twin-row cabin for firefighting vehicles.
