In the early 1970s, Avia was purchased by its main competitor — the Motor Iberica. This company produced Ebro trucks. The reformed Avia factory started producing the range of medium duty trucks Avia 1600 / 3600 / 5600, which were rebadged Ebro L-series models. Later they become known as AVIA-EBRO.
The range included 3 models: Avia 1600 with a payload of 1600 kg, Avia 3600 — 3585 kg, and Avia 5600 — 5485 kg. All versions were equipped with Perkins 4.326 diesel rated at 75 hp at 2800 rpm. Gearbox is 5-speed, manual. The trucks were available with 3 wheelbase options. Another special model in the range was Avia 3600 F van with a payload of 2692 kg.
