In 1960, at a trading show in Barcelona Avia showcased a prototype of the new Avia 2500. Its mass production started in 1961. It was fitted with a 61 hp Perkins diesel. For this project AISA cooperated with Technical Department of ENASA-Pegaso. Early versions had slightly different cabin with rounded wheel arches, instead of angular of later models.
Curb weight — 2075 kg, payload — 2925 kg, GVW — 5000 kg. Overall dimensions — 5080x2098x2210 mm.
In 1973, Avia started production of an updated model, which got a new front mask and facelifted headlights. Engine power — 70-80 hp. Gearbox — 4-speed, manual with synchronizers for 2nd, 3rd and 4th gears.
