(1985 - 1987)
In the middle of 80s, KZKT developed a special ballast tractor KZKT 7427 to transport extreme heavy and oversized loads in difficult road conditions. The new model was a future development of KZKT 7426 and differed by a new 4-door all-metal cabin with rectangular front end, 3-part windshield, higher roof and a massive front bumper with headlights.
In 1985, factory tests of two protototypes of KZKT 7427 began. They were equipped with YAMZ 8401 V12 turbocharged diesel engine rated at 650 hp. Top speed with 50-ton trailer was 55 kph. 7427 became the base of a new military model 7428.
