A new ballast tractor KZKT 74261 with a payload of 16 tonnes was presented in 1984. It got a central winch and welded metal cargo platform with length of 3165 mm. In fact, it was very similar to MAZ 537L but was equipped with a new engine and cabin. Curb weight - 25 tonnes, GVW - 41 tonnes. Overall length - 10.3 meters. Range - 700 km. Other technical data is similar to MAZ 537L. After factory tests in 21NIII these model was recomended to mass production with few improvements.
