In June 1958, after tests of MAZ-529 prototype, its updated version MAZ-529V was transferred to production in Mogilev Automobile Factory (MoAZ). It had a 2-place cabin and YAZ-M206A 180 hp engine. By the end of 1961, several versions of the base MAZ-529V tractor were developed: MAZ-529B, MAZ-529G, MAZ-529D and MAZ-529E. MAZ-529B and MAZ-529G were equipped with YAZ M206B 205 hp engine and differed by a GCVW: MAZ-529B - 34,000 kg, MAZ-529G - up to 57,400 kg. MAZ-529D was equipped with the same 205-horsepower engine YAZ-M206B, and had a propeller shaft to drive units of semitrailer. MAZ-529E was specially designed to work as part of a self-propelled scraper.
Mass production of scrapers MAZ-529E-D-357G began in 1961 on several factories. Since 1965, MAZ-529I was produced instead of MAZ-529E. It had a YAZ-206I 180 hp engine and enhanced transmission. MAZ-529M with a simplified open-top cabin was designed to work in southern regions. Tropical version of MAZ-529G was called MAZ-529GT.
