ZIL » 132S
In February 1964, made a compact offroad prototype ZIL-132C (4x4) with a cabin from ZIL-164, short flatbed body and gear-shaft drive of both axles. It was based on a shortened 104-hp chassis of ZIL-157K with a wheelbase of 3850 mm and featured by four thin-walled air-skating wheels I-245 1000 mm in diameter and 1000 mm wide.
Its design feature was drum brakes with hydraulic drive mounted on the front wheels only. Curb weight was 5440 kg. The maximum speed on a highway was 55 kph. The prototype was too heavy and difficult to drive, so the project was canceled after first tests.
