ZIL-132P (1969) - the only prototype of a 4-ton amphibious army vehicle created under the '132' range. It was finished at the beginning of August 1969. It was equipped with a 180-horsepower ZIL-375 engine and the on-board transmission, and received a manual gearbox from ZIL-158 bus, original two-speed transfer gearbox, torsion bar suspension of the 1st and the last axles, welded frame, flatbed body made of aluminum alloy and fiberglass hull and cabin of ZIL 135L.
Compared with the base ZIL-132 prototype the distance between the axes was reduced to 2300 mm, which shortened the turning radius by 11 meters, while the clearance under the bottom reached 660 mm. Gross weight was 10.5 tonnes, overall length - 7180 mm, width - 2610 mm, height - 2450 mm. The maximum speed on a highway - 75 kph, afloat with the help of jet engine - 5-7 kph. The prototype also got an aviation turbojet engine, provides additional traction to pass a difficult terrain.
