ZIS » E134 Prototype #0
A typical example of the first attempts to create a fundamentally new vehicles by ZIS company was a unique prototype on a chassis of ZIL-157 which was built in 1956. This prototype with a blank front engine compartment received the designation ZIS-E134 Model #0. As an experiment its powertrain was moved from a traditional place under the hood to the rear overhang to reducing load on the front wheels. This prototype could not move confidently in the snow, and had bad headling.
