KrAZ » E259
The prototypes of the first generation proved to be too ambitious and difficult for the domestic auto industry, costly and equally unreliable. So in 1964, Kraz made a second generation. The range consisted of a 9-ton truck E253 and combination of tractor E259 with an active semitrailer E834. The wheelbase of the tractor was 4500 mm. General design solutions of the Kraz E259 were similar to flatbed truck E253. Factory tests started in May 1964 were ended in June 1965, and then modified machines were re-tested in 1967. Result of the test was perfect, but due to many of original and difficult parts the price of these trucks was too expensive.
