To 70 years anniversary of Minsk Automobile Plant it presented a future truck if ecological standard Euro 6. It is the  new tractor MAZ-5440M9 which differs by innovative cabin design, made in the spirit of the Volvo FH trucks and Mercedes-Benz Actros of last generations. It gort a high grille and modern headlights. An interior also got some modifications.

The height of a fifth wheel above the ground is 1150 mm. The tractor is designed to use with trailers with a GCW of 40 tonnes. It has Mercedes-Benz OM471 Euro 6 engine rated at 475 hp.

Pavel Shabanov, the chief designer of MAZ described the newest tractor MAZ-5440M9: "We created it using modern canons, starting with the frame, suspension, aggregation. In general, we attracted the most advanced computer simulation packages."

Mass production started in 2018.
