In the early '80s the lineup was supplemented by a special chassis FMT (6x4) for cement mixers and FAG (6x2) for refuse trucks. In 1982, DAF introduced a lightweight 2100 model with a 8.25-liter engine with 210 hp. At the same time, new 2300 and 2500 models were shown with the second generation of 8.25-liter engine producing 250 hp.
