DAF » CF 2nd generation
The second generation CF Series was launched in 2006 and completed DAF's product range in the medium-heavy and heavy haulage sector. The main feature of all new models were PACCAR engines with Selective Catalytic Reduction technology (SCR) aimed to comply with the Euro 4 or Euro 5 emission levels. Model CF65 received PACCAR GR engine with a capacity of 6.7 liters. This version can be equipped with AS Tronic gearbox. CF75 is equipped with PACCAR PR engine with a capacity of 9.2 liters. The engines have an output of 249, 310 and 360 hp. These engines use the most recent developments, which have found application in a top series engine MX with a capacity of 12.9 litres. First of all, this is a system of high-pressure injection SMART, as well as wiring insulation for maximum reliability and durability. Finally, CF85 range received MX series engines with a power of 360, 408, 462 and 510 hp. Fuel economy improved by about 4% compared to engines that meet Euro 3 standards. But the visual differences are very small with only a new chrome molding on the grille. But the interior was significantly changed tp be closer to the top-model XF. Moving of the chassis components on the inner side of the frame allowed to further increase the body volume, tool boxes and fuel tanks.
In 2008 at the IAA 2008 was shown a tractor truck CF with upgraded Space Cab, which received a ceiling lights on the roof, as the flagship XF105. In addition, an updated construction range was shown. The trucks received new tandem axles, designed for increased load of 13 tons, and as an option 12-speed automatic gearbox with the «off road» function and much more.
