In the 1980s the plant had an official rally team, participating in different stages with either speed or off road rallys. These trucks were used actually as prototypes that tested various new technical solutions, which subsequently reached or not, series production. The trucks were based on military DAC 665 T, because this type of truck showed extraordinary strength over time. Romanian engines were used and traction was all-wheel drive 6x6. I do not know if there is any surviving truck left.
