July 5th, the Automobile Plant MAZ from Belorus has presented the second-generation of race truck and new technical support vehicle. The new race team "MAZ-SPORTavto" debuted a year ago at the International rally-raid "Silk Road 2010" take place in Russia. The crew finished all eight stages, and passed total length of 4000 km. After the rally, the race team began intensive works on improving the sport truck, which was conducted almost a year. The engineers eliminated technical deficiencies identified during the last race, created the second generation of race truck and new technical support vehicle.

Both cars are based on the MAZ-5309 chassis, equipped with the same 800 hp engine and looked very similar, except of some details. However, the new truck is lighter, which led to increase of racing speed. The second technical support vehicle has undergone significant changes: received twin-cab and places for relaxation of the team in the rear compartment, so the truck became more functional. The start of the Rally "Silk Road - 2011" will be held at July 9th at the Red Square in Moscow. The race will take place on the route from Moscow to Sochi and will be ended on July 16. And then - the way to Dakar 2011.
