Chevrolet » Series 50 / 60 / 70 / 80 LCF '60

In 1960 the truck-line received distinctive new faces featured a huge hood sporting two simulated air scoops on either side of central emblem. Within these scoops was a small grille surrounding the parking / signal lights. Model Series designations for 1960 were completely revised. The new system began with a letter prefix. The Low-Cab-Forward models received letter "L" in front of numeric index. As the conventional models, the LCFs have 2 series - the medium duty Viking L50 / L60 and heavy duty Spartan L70 / L80. The L50 had 16,000 lbs GVW and offered as L5200 (wheelbase of 133 inches), L5300 (145 inches) and L5600 (175 inches). The L60 range was more extensive and included trucks with GVW of 19,500 lbs and 22,000 lbs for L60H. Wheelbases were 121" (L6100), 133" (L6200), 145" (L6300), 175" (L6600) and 197" (L6900). The heavy duty model L70 with GVW of 23,000 lbs and L80 with GVW of 25,000 lbs were produced as L71 / 81, L72 / 82, L73 / 83 и L76 / 86 with 121 to 175" wheelbases.
