In 1998 with the acquisition of British company GKN Defense from Tilford production of all wheeled armored vehicles was transferred to factory of acquired the year before company Hagglunds from Sweden. After the acquisition the Alvis company received in its range the multi-purpose armored vehicle Tactica. These vans are designed for service in police, medical and engineering units. Inside there are 14 to 22 seats for people with arms. Buyers can choose several variants of turbodiesels (Perkins, Mercedes-Benz, MAN, Renault, etc.), manual or automatic transmission, different types of equipment and weapons (from a light machine guns and grenade launchers to a "water gun"). Other features of the range Tactica are permanent four-wheel drive with independent suspension, three limited-slip differentials in the transmission, and power steering.
