Caterpillar presented a new "B" generation of articulated dump trucks with an updated look and increased driver comfort at the CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2011 in Las Vegas. The new range will include three models - 735B (capacity 32.7 tons), 740B (39,5 tons) and 740B EJ (38 tons, with ejector). They are available in versions with Tier2/Stage2 or Tier 4 Interim/Stage IIIB standards comply. Cat ® C15 ACERT engine develops 337 kW (458 hp) for the 735B model and 365 kW (496 hp) for the 740B and 740B EJ models. To ensure maximum reliability, Caterpillar uses the proven electronic components for fuel systems and air supply systems, as well as modular exhaust treatment systems. All-wheel-drive system is also refreshed. A new traction control system with a fully proportional distribution of torque makes the driver's job easier in heavy road conditions. If the previous models has manually locked differential, the new B-Series has an automatic adjustment of the locking level of wheel and axles differentials in accordance with the road conditions. Time-tested automatic transmission also received some improvements to make gear shifting smoother and increase fuel efficiency. One of the major improvements of the new generation is the updated cabin. A new instrument panel, made by injection molding, has an upgraded facing design and provides an excellent appearance operator's workplace. All the necessary information for the operator is displayed on the new dashboard and fully customizable color multifunction display. The new ceiling has integrated electric mirrors control, regeneration system and a set to connect radio and CD player. The updated driver's seat with multiple adjustments of its position provides high level of comfort, and new materials used in construction ensure reliability and long life of the seat. Heating and air conditioning has also been updated.
