Australia 1962 - 1988
Atkinson's assembly operations in Australia commenced in 1962 and a half share in the enterprise was held for a time by the haulage firm of Mayne Nickless. In 1966 an Australian built fiberglass tilt cab was adopted. From 1965 until his death in 1971 J.M.MacInnes ran the Australian (and later New Zeland ) companies, having started working for Atkinsonat Airdie in Scotland in 1959.
