ZELIGSON This company was formed in 1946 by ex-serviceman Samuel Zeligson and two colleagues to refurbish war-surplus trucks for civilian use.
All-wheel drive conversions were also carried out on 4x2 and 6x2 trucks for off-road use. Zeligson's founder also formed CCC, the Crane Carrier Corporation, which built specialized construction and concrete mixers. In the 1960s and '70s Zeligson built special trucks for the oil and mining industries using a variety of military and proprietary components, including Detroit Diesel two-stroke engines. In 1980 the company was sold to a new owner, who carried on a similar business on a small scale until finally closing down in 1989. -
