A little later then light series Unimog 407, in 1988, the medium duty series Unimog 417 has been presented. It differs by the headlights installed on the bumper. There were U800/U900/U1150/U1150L models. The trucks were equipped with 4- or 6-cylinders diesel engines OM 314 or OM 352 with a working volume of 5.7 liters and an output of 75-110 hp.
