An updated light duty range L1100 was producing since 1936. The new 1,5-ton L1500 model has been presented in 1937 and produced in Mannheim. It was offered with a gasoline 2.2-liter 45 hp engine or a new 4-cylinder diesel OM138 engine (2545 cm3, 47 hp) and 4-speed transmission from serial passenger Mercedes-Benz cars. It has a huge speed for trucks - 80 km/h. In 1941 the successor L1500 A / S has been presented.
