The concern DaimlerChrysler has developed this chassis with a forward control cab on the base of the Atego model especially for the FAUN company. The chassis is designed primarily for a front-loading garbage truck FAUN Toppress X. With a capacity of the container 28 m3 the truck looks compact, stocky and a little futuristic. The space above the cabin is designed very efficient. FAUN came to the conclusion that it is safer to transport loaders in a cabin, not on bandwagons. To make enter and exit for loaders faster the truck has bus doors and a low floor without steps. The constructors moved the engine as lower as possible to make the low floor. Because the load of front axle is increased significantly they made the suspension stronger. An automatic transmission with a retarder helps the driver during maneuvering. The truck is operated by one person only. The loading mechanism is controlled by a joystick from the cab. A container is loaded and discharged from the chassis by hook mechanism Hawkchange - the latest patented system, designed by FAUN. Toppress X is able to work with standard containers or with new Pressbox containers, having less weight and greater payload.
