Concept truck UXT is the world's only truck tractor, where the engine is mounted in the base. Interesting, that the gearbox is located in front, and the "lying" engine is behind it. The concept created a furor at the IAA Commercial Vehicle Show in 1989. The UXT model according to the words of MAN engineers had an excellent road performance. Thanks to an ideal weight distribution and low center of gravity for this. But there was no mass production of this model: the design was too complicated and expensive. As the result only a few racing copies were built for championships.
